Liza is a ten week old, female kitten with some Persian in her family tree. She is quite elegant in her sophisticated black and white attire but she is also very much in the moment. When she plays, she goes full speed, but when she is picked up she loves to cuddle and rumbles with a loud, continuous purr. Liza and other aristocats
are available for adoption at the Orange
County Animal Shelter.
Little 3-month-old Flint is a terrier and pointer mix with one brown eye and one blue! His sisters are much bigger than him, so he might be the runt of the litter but that doesn't slow him down!
Flint and his siblings are
available for adoption at the Orange
County Animal Shelter.
Wanted: A Good Companion and Home! Moonlight is an
adorable white male kitten in search of someone to form an everlasting bond with. Enjoys chatting on the internet, scrapbooking and knitting.
Free lance photographer in spare time.
Moonlight is
available for adoption at the

Shelter.

Rabies Raccoon Epidemic -
Have your pet vaccinated! Orange County has had 11 positive
rabies cases in 2005 (as of July 2005), and authorities say that
unvaccinated pets could be required to be quarantined for six months or be
euthanized if bitten by a rabid animal. Make sure that your pets'
vaccinations are up-to-date! Click her for Rabies
Clinics info.
Before you adopt a dog or puppy:
Remember that dogs need plenty of exercise, play time, companionship, and obedience
training.
Choose a breed of dog that will fit your home and
space. Larger breeds need a lot of space, while smaller dogs may be better
if space is limited.
For safety, dogs need a fenced yard; identification tag or tatoo
identification, and a leash. Pets should wear a personal ID tag with their owners' name,
address and phone number so that lost pets may be returned to their homes.
Dogs and cats need
annual vaccinations, heartworm medicine, and regular checkups; flea and tick
treatment. NC law requires all dogs and cats over 4 months of age to be vaccinated against
rabies.
Many North Carolina counties, including Orange County, require dogs to be
licensed. Check with your county about licensing requirements.
