Chapel Hill/Carrboro Mothers Club - Fun, Friendship, Support
"Our mission is to help area parents connect with other parents."  The Mothers Club welcomes all members, both moms and dads.  Some of the many membership benefits include:  monthly meetings with guest speakers (first Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm at the Meadowmont clubhouse); closed playgroups (assigned by your child's age with 4 to 6 members per group meeting weekly); a Book Club (third Tuesday of each month at Caribou Coffee at the intersection of  Franklin St. and Estes); a monthly mom's night out; service projects; fitness walks; and a monthly newsletter.  The Mothers Club also has two home schooling groups.  (One is an activity group that gets together for outings to various destinations including science museums, playgrounds, the zoo, and other activities/events.  There is also a preschool-at-home group meeting once a week at members' houses.)  The Mothers Club organizes an annual Preschool Fair every October to help parents earn more about the many varied preschool options in the community, with many local preschool and "morning out" program representatives in attendance to provide literature and answer questions. The Mothers Club also has compiled detailed information about area preschools for distribution at the Preschool Fair; this local preschool information also is available online at the website.
