 CPR/Child and Home Safety Classes
UNC Health offers a CPR and Home Safety class that teaches infant/child/adult CPR techniques, as well as injury prevention.  Participants receive a two-year CPR certificate.  For more information call (919) 966-7890 or (919) U-GET-INFO (843-8463).  Register online at www.nchealthywoman.org.

Buckle Up
The UNC Health Care Safe Communities Program is offering a free class to teach parents/caregivers how to select the best car seats for their child, how to correctly install them, check for recalls and learn how to secure children properly every time they ride.  www.unchealthcare.org/site/classesevents

Safe Sitter
UNC Health's Wellness Center offers a program for children ages 11 -13 that teaches babysitters how to handle age-specific issues, injury prevention, problem behaviors, and the business of babysitting.  For more information, contact the Wellness Center at Meadowmont at (919) 966-5500.

Rex Healthcare and Family Birth Center offers the national Safe Sitter program in the summer to teach adolescents how to be safer babysitters.  Each two-day Safe Sitter course will teach 11 - 13 year-olds how to take care of children of any age.  Rex Healthcare instructors are Safe Sitter-certified and participants will learn how to help a choking child, what to do in a crisis situation, as well as first-aid and general safety guidelines.  $50 program fee per child.  4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, NC.  www.rexhealth.com
