Wexford
Chapel Hill/Carrboro, NC - approx. 5 min. to Carrboro/7 min. downtown Chapel
Hill
Beautiful setting conveniently located off
Homestead approx. 5 min. from MLK/Airport Rd. (7 minutes from downtown Chapel
Hill) ; and 5 min. to Carrboro via Greensboro St.
The Wexford neighborhood was thoughtfully
designed with spacious yards/gardens and WIDE, wide streets & SIDEWALKS!
Perfect for long walks with strollers, running, bike-riding, walking dogs.
Friendly neighbors and extraordinarily
CHILD-FRIENDLY neighborhood.
Children can walk to school or ride their bikes
to McDougle Elementary (families rave about this Chapel Hill public school).
Renowned Chapel Hill High School is only a few minutes drive away.
There are also many great private school options in relatively easy driving
distance. (Anecdotally, in recent years some neighborhood children have
attended the Duke School for Children, Trinity School, Carolina Friends, Durham
Academy, Emerson Waldorf, St. Thomas More, Cardinal Gibbons High School in
Raleigh, and others. Several of these private schools are located within
an easy 5-15 min. drive from Wexford)
Pretty Wexford Pond with Gazebo grace the
entryway of the Wexford neighborhood, with a wooden plank walkway across the
middle of the pond (fun for visiting the resident geese and fish), and paved
pathway around the entire pond. Lots of fun for bike rides and walks
around the pond with the kids.
Playground, Swimming Pool Tennis Courts --
Great low-key community swimming pool (friends often say it feels like a quiet,
private resort!); beautiful well-maintained tennis courts;
The WIDE Wexford neighborhood streets are great
for bicycle riding all through the neighborhood and adjoining neighborhoods (Cate's
Farm; Arcadia). The neighborhood has abundant trees and beautiful
hardwood, old growth trees -- maple trees, oak trees, pear trees.
Neighborhood families get together at the Pool
House for Holiday gatherings -- the Halloween party is always a huge hit with
the kids (pool house transformed into a Haunted House, with older neighborhood
kids dressing up to delight the younger children.! Fourth of July bicycle
parades and (in some prior years) firework displays; Easter Egg hunts organized
among neighbors.
Only 5 minutes from Mapleview Ice Cream and dairy
-- enjoy ice cream as you relax on rocking chairs on the front porch and watch
the sunset over the dairy farm and fields spread out before you. Lovely
and always a great treat!
